Tasting Exercise: Classic Wines

My goal while learning about different wines is to become proficient in all of the aspects of tasting.  There are a plethora of tasting exercises that can be completed to help accomplish this goal.  This week I will be focusing on learning about classic wines.

* Blind taste a flight of six theoretically classic wines (three red, three white) once a week using the blind deductive method.  (Mosel Riesling, Meursault Chardonnay, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Pomerol Merlot, Voinay Pinot Noir, Barolo Nebbiolo, Chianti Sangiovese, etc.)

* Taste classic wines at any opportunity.  If utilizing the deductive method is not feasible, make note of “classic markers” in any of them.
